Thanks to an expert team and four three-axis CNC milling machines, the sheet machining department is able to tackle even the most complex processes, combining innovation and sustainability to meet the needs of the most demanding customers.
At the core of MCS, the slab machining department is one of the company’s historical and most strategic production areas. Here, CNC milling technology meets the craftsmanship of our skilled operators.
From the beginning, when we had only one machine, our goal has always been the same: to achieve the highest quality and precision.
Today, with four three-axis CNC milling machines, we have expanded our production capacity, but our attention to detail and commitment to excellence remain unchanged.
These machines, equipped with powerful spindles, vacuum systems for sheet clamping, and automated tool changers, represent the technological basis on which we build our competitiveness.
Power and Control: An Inseparable Duo
What sets our milling machines apart from a traditional pantograph? The answer lies in the combination of power and control.
A powerful spindle allows for fast and deep machining, but without an effective locking system, the result would be inaccurate.
This is where our vacuum system comes into play, firmly holding the sheets on the machine table, eliminating vibrations and unwanted displacements.
During a work cycle, the machine can switch from a large-diameter tool, ideal for significant material removal, to a tool as small as 1 mm for extremely precise details.
Every cut, bevel and thread are executed with care, transforming raw material into a ready-to-use component.
The Creative Process: Technology and Collaboration
In our department, machine efficiency is enhanced by the experience and creativity of a highly qualified team, consisting of one female and two male operators.
These professionals don’t just program the machines; they often have to find innovative solutions for unique technical challenges.
For example, they collaborate with other departments to develop custom supports using 3D printing technologies or alternative materials such as adhesives or mats.
Thanks to the nesting process, which optimizes the layout of parts on the material, we minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
This combination of expertise and technology allows us to tackle complex machining processes that other companies or industry operators, even with similar machines, find difficult to execute.
Practical Applications: From Design to Functionality
Every component that leaves our department tells a story of transformation. We customize display frames, panels for membrane keyboards, synoptic panels, and electrical enclosures, as well as front panels for rack systems. And that’s not all.
Many of these parts undergo further processing, such as coating, sandblasting, threading or stud insertion, and integration of membranes or keyboards.
Hot bending for plastic materials and press bending for metals add another level of customization, while screen printing enhances the product with high-quality graphic details.
These processes are not just an added value; they represent our commitment to creating solutions that combine functionality and aesthetics.
Sustainability and Innovation: A Responsible Approach
At MCS, the focus on energy efficiency is a priority. In this department, we have implemented an intelligent solution to recover the heat generated by the machines’ powerful vacuum pumps.
Through a ducting system, hot air is expelled in the summer, while in winter, it is filtered and retained to heat the department. A concrete example of how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand.
The slab machining department is much more than a collection of machines and processes: it is a place where technology, expertise, and passion come together to create high-quality products.
Every component, from the simplest to the most complex, is the result of a constant commitment to innovation and precision.
If you need customized solutions or want to tackle technical challenges with a reliable partner, we are ready to collaborate with you.
We don’t just process materials; we transform them into tools for our customers’ success.
